An ex-resident's prospective

If you get a chance to go to Las Vegas, take it. While I'd never live there again, it's a fun place to visit. I drove a cab out there for 6 years. Here are some of the things I've taken from the experiece...

Vegas is the prime example of the statement... You get what you pay for. If you go to a restaurant looking for $9.95 steak and lobster, you're going to get a hockey puck and a shrimp with hunchback disease.

Prostitution is illegal in the metro area. Don't let anyone tell you differently. If you really have the urge, The closest brothel is 60 miles away. Bring your platinum card.

If you want to play $1 blackjack, you won't find it in the nice properties.

Renting a car in Vegas is a death wish.

The best strip clubs (topless w/booze) Sapphire, Olympic Garden. Don't waste your time with Jaguars (if it's even open)

The hottest nightclub is Rain (in the Palms Resort) The lines will be long.

Leave the kiddies at home, Vegas has abandoned it's family friendly atmosphere.

There is no Tiki Island Resort. (as in the Day of Destruction)
